Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
Effective date: 18 August 2026 Last updated: 18 August 2026
This Disclaimer is part of - and governed by - our Terms of Service. It is set out as a separate document so you can link to it, not because it modifies the Terms. If anything here conflicts with the Terms, the Terms control.
1. "As is" / "as available"
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties - express, implied, statutory, or otherwise - including:
- MERCHANTABILITY;
- FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE;
- TITLE;
- NON-INFRINGEMENT;
- THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, TIMELY, OR ERROR-FREE;
- THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED;
- THAT THE SERVICE IS FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS;
- THAT ANY DATA YOU STORE OR GENERATE WILL BE RETAINED, RECOVERABLE, OR FREE FROM LOSS OR CORRUPTION;
- THAT MODS YOU INSTALL FROM THE STEAM WORKSHOP WILL WORK, WILL BE SAFE, OR WILL NOT DAMAGE YOUR SAVE;
- THAT ANY ADVICE, WARNING, OR AUTOMATED ANALYSIS (INCLUDING "MOD INTELLIGENCE") IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR ACTIONABLE.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties. Where that is the case, the exclusions above apply only to the maximum extent permitted in that jurisdiction, and nothing in this Disclaimer overrides statutory consumer rights that cannot be contractually waived.
2. No affiliation with The Indie Stone
PZStack is an independent third-party hosting service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Indie Stone Ltd, the maker of Project Zomboid. "Project Zomboid" is a trade mark of The Indie Stone. Your use of the Project Zomboid game server software is subject to The Indie Stone's own terms in addition to ours.
3. User-generated content
The Service hosts other people's content - server names, descriptions, message-of-the-day, mod files pulled from the Steam Workshop, chat and world data generated by your players, and RCON commands you issue. We do not pre-screen any of it. We are not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or safety of user-generated content. Where applicable law (for example, the EU Digital Services Act, the US Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, or equivalents) affords hosting providers a safe harbour for such content, we rely on it.
See our Acceptable Use Policy for what we prohibit, and §5 below for how to notify us about infringing or illegal content.
4. Third-party services and outages
The Service depends on third parties: our authorized Merchant of Record (payments), Resend (email), our object-storage provider (mod cache and backups), our upstream hosting provider (compute and network), Steam Workshop (mod downloads), and others listed in the Privacy Policy. When any of them degrades or fails, the Service can degrade or fail with them. We are not liable for outages, data unavailability, or data loss caused by a third party, and their terms (not ours) govern what they owe you.
5. Copyright / DMCA and illegal-content notices
If you believe a mod, a server name, or any other content on the Service infringes your copyright or is otherwise illegal, send a notice to [email protected] (subject: "DMCA" or "Illegal content") including:
- Identification of the copyrighted work or legal basis (which law, which country);
- The specific material on the Service that you claim infringes (server slug, Workshop ID, or URL);
- Your name, address, and contact email;
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the rightsholder, their agent, or the law;
- A statement, under penalty of perjury where applicable, that the information is accurate and that you are authorised to act for the rightsholder;
- Your physical or electronic signature.
We will act expeditiously on valid notices - typically by taking the material offline - and we will notify the affected customer so they can submit a counter-notice. Repeated infringers will have their accounts terminated.
6. Limitation of liability
(This restates §15 of the Terms of Service - it's here for standalone link-ability.)
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- We will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages; for lost profits, lost revenue, lost goodwill, loss of business, loss of world save data, or losses suffered by players of your server; or for damages resulting from third-party mods, third-party services, or acts of other users.
- Our aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Service in any twelve-month period is capped at the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim, and (b) USD 100.
These limits apply in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, and any other legal theory, even if a stated remedy fails of its essential purpose.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law - for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by gross negligence, for intentional misconduct, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence (EU/EEA/UK consumers, in particular, retain their statutory rights).
7. Force majeure
We are not in breach of the Terms, and are not liable to you, for any delay or failure to perform that is caused by something outside our reasonable control - including natural disasters, war, insurrection, strikes, labour disputes, public-health emergencies, acts of government, large-scale network or power outages, internet-backbone failures, sabotage, cyber attacks against us or our upstream providers, or the unavailability of a third-party service on which we depend.
8. Your responsibility for backups
Even where your plan includes automated backups, you are encouraged to keep your own periodic offsite backups of world saves that matter to you. Our backup retention is bounded (see the Privacy Policy and the plan page). If a world save is unrecoverable because it was outside the retention window, the 14-day refund guarantee and the service-failure refund rules do not give you a right to compensation for the lost data beyond what §6 above allows.
9. Security incident disclosure
If a security incident materially affects your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant supervisory authority in line with our Privacy Policy and applicable law (GDPR Art. 33/34, KVKK Art. 12(5), etc.). We will not use this Disclaimer to escape that obligation.
