Terms of Service
Effective date: 18 August 2026 Last updated: 18 August 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the PZStack website at https://pzstack.com and the managed Project Zomboid game server hosting platform provided through it (together, the "Service").
By creating an account, checking the "I agree" box during signup, clicking "pay" at checkout, or otherwise using the Service you ("you", "user", "Customer") agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The operator
The Service is operated by Hüseyin Okan Öztürk, trading as PZStack (the "Operator", "we", "us"), located in Adana, Republic of Türkiye (Postal Code: 01010).
Contact for all legal, billing, privacy, and support matters: [email protected] (or [email protected]).
2. What the Service is
The Service lets you rent, configure, and manage isolated Project Zomboid game server instances without running your own Linux host, container runtime, or SSH session. In particular, we provide:
- Provisioning of Project Zomboid server instances on infrastructure we control;
- A web dashboard for start/stop/restart, configuration editing, player-limit and sandbox tuning, RCON command execution, and log viewing;
- Automated install and compatibility analysis of Steam Workshop mods that you select by Workshop ID;
- Automated backups, depending on your plan;
- Email-based transactional notifications (verification, password reset, outage alerts, plan-change summaries, and similar).
The Service does not include the Project Zomboid game itself. Project Zomboid is a separate product of The Indie Stone Ltd, and PZStack is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Indie Stone. Your use of the game server software is additionally subject to The Indie Stone's end-user terms.
3. Eligibility & account
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are between 16 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. The Service is not directed to children under 16; see our Privacy Policy for how we handle age.
You must provide a valid email address and choose a password that meets our published complexity policy (at least 12 characters, mixing three of upper, lower, digit, symbol). You are responsible for:
- Keeping your credentials confidential;
- All activity that occurs under your account, whether or not you authorised it;
- Notifying us at [email protected] as soon as you suspect unauthorised access.
We hash passwords with Argon2id. We never see, store, or accept your plaintext password in our database.
4. Acceptable use
Your use of the Service is additionally governed by our Acceptable Use Policy (the "AUP"), which is incorporated by reference. A breach of the AUP is a breach of these Terms. Without limiting the AUP, you agree not to:
- Use the Service to host, distribute, or facilitate content that is illegal in the jurisdictions from which you or the server's players operate;
- Upload mods that contain malware, backdoors, cryptominers, or code that targets other tenants on shared infrastructure;
- Attempt to break out of your container, escalate privileges on the host, or access another customer's server;
- Use the Service to attack third parties (DDoS, port-scanning, credential stuffing, spam relay, etc.);
- Resell raw server capacity to third parties as your own hosting brand, except under a separate written agreement;
- Circumvent our rate limits, quotas, OTP flows, or authentication controls.
5. Your content
"Your Content" means everything you submit, upload, configure, or cause the Service to store on your behalf - including server names, descriptions, message-of-the-day text, sandbox variables, mod selection, RCON commands, admin/RCON passwords you set, and any data your players generate inside your server (chat, world saves, logs).
You retain ownership of Your Content. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, copy, transmit, cache, and process Your Content solely to the extent necessary to operate, secure, and improve the Service (including backups, abuse investigation, and compatibility analysis of mods). This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, subject to section 10 (Retention).
You are solely responsible for Your Content. You represent and warrant that you have the rights necessary to submit it and that it does not infringe any third-party rights or violate any law.
6. Mods, Steam Workshop, and third-party content
The Service lets you install mods by referencing their Steam Workshop ID. We do not host a mod marketplace; we fetch the Workshop item on your instance at the time you ask us to install it and cache it on object storage we control. Your use of Workshop content is additionally governed by the Steam Subscriber Agreement and the mod author's licence terms.
We do not review mods for quality, safety, or legality before they are installed. We do run automated compatibility analysis ("Mod Intelligence") purely to warn you about conflicts; that analysis is advisory only and does not constitute an endorsement. You accept all risk associated with the mods you choose to install on your server.
If a mod is removed from the Workshop (delisted, taken down, or made invisible), we will stop redistributing it on new provisions and may notify you by email.
7. Plans, billing, taxes, and the payment processor
7.1 Plans
The Service is offered as monthly subscription plans. The feature set, resource limits (RAM, CPU share, storage, mod slot count, backup cadence), and price of each plan are shown on the pricing page at the time of purchase. By subscribing you authorise recurring monthly charges until you cancel.
7.2 Payment processor & Merchant of Record
Payment processing and Merchant of Record services are provided by our authorized Merchant of Record / payment processor. The Merchant of Record handles:
- The actual payment transaction;
- Collection and remittance of applicable sales tax, VAT, or GST;
- Invoicing and billing receipts;
- PCI-DSS compliance for card data.
Your purchase is therefore additionally subject to the Merchant of Record's terms of service and privacy practices. We never receive, process, or store your full payment card details.
7.3 Taxes
Prices shown on the pricing page are exclusive of tax unless stated otherwise. The Merchant of Record will determine and add the correct VAT / sales tax at checkout based on your billing country.
7.4 Renewal & cancellation
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You can cancel at any time from your account dashboard or from the customer portal link in your billing receipt email. Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep access for the remainder of the period you already paid for.
7.5 Price changes
We may change plan prices. Price changes take effect at your next renewal and we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before they do. If you do not agree to a price change, cancel before the renewal date.
7.6 Failed payments & downgrade
If a renewal charge fails (expired card, insufficient funds, etc.), the payment provider will retry on its standard schedule. If the subscription then expires unpaid, your account will automatically be moved to a "free / none" state and any servers that exceed the limits of that state will be stopped and eventually deleted. We will email you before that happens.
7.7 Build families and switching builds
Project Zomboid is supported across both current builds: Build 42 (Official) and Build 41 (Legacy). Every PZStack plan runs both builds - the game version is chosen per server at creation time, not tied to your subscription. Plan changes (upgrades or downgrades) are regular plan changes, and your existing servers adapt to the new resource caps automatically on next restart.
Project Zomboid's saves, mods, and maps do not migrate between major builds: a server created on one build cannot be converted into the other. To run a different build, create a new server on it from your dashboard (within your plan's server slots). Your subscription and billing period are unaffected by which builds your servers use.
Specific refund interactions are governed by section 5 of the Refund Policy.
8. Refunds
See our Refund Policy for the full terms. In summary:
- 14-day first-time buyer refund. If you are buying a PZStack plan for the first time, you may request a full refund within 14 days of the initial charge, no questions asked. This is a goodwill policy and also satisfies EU/UK consumer "right of withdrawal" rules.
- Service-failure refund. If the Service fails materially on our side - for example a sustained platform outage, or your server cannot be provisioned at all - we will issue a pro-rated refund or credit for the affected period on request.
- No refunds for subsequent monthly renewals that you simply forgot to cancel, for suspension triggered by your breach of these Terms, or for usage you consumed.
9. Service availability, SLA, and limits
We target high availability but do not promise any specific uptime percentage. The Service is provided on a "best-effort" basis. We may schedule maintenance windows, push security patches, migrate your server between physical hosts, or take temporary protective action during incidents, all without prior notice where delay would be unsafe.
We may impose and enforce technical limits - RAM, CPU share, storage, concurrent players, mod count, RCON rate, API rate - to protect the stability of shared infrastructure. Exceeding those limits may cause your server to be throttled, restarted, or suspended.
10. Data retention & deletion
- Live server data (world saves, configs, logs currently visible in the dashboard): retained while your server exists. Deleting a server removes the container and all world data immediately.
- Backups: retained for the rolling window of your plan (up to your plan's backup slot count) while your server exists. After you delete a server, remaining backups are retained for 30 days, then permanently erased.
- Server metadata: after the same 30-day window following a server deletion, configuration records and identifiers tied to that server - including its hostname and URL slug - are purged from our systems.
- Account data (email, name, auth hash, billing linkage): retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove live personal data within 30 days. Residual copies in encrypted, access- controlled backup media expire on the backup cycle (up to 90 days).
- RCON command audit log and billing / webhook event records: retained for up to 24 months for security-forensics and tax/accounting obligations, then deleted.
- Anti-fraud / ban records: we may retain a minimal record (hashed email, reason, date) of accounts terminated for Terms or AUP violation indefinitely, to prevent re-registration.
11. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if:
- You breach these Terms or the AUP;
- Your payment has been reversed, charged back, or remained unpaid after the retry window;
- We reasonably suspect your account is compromised, is being used to abuse third parties, or presents an imminent risk to our infrastructure or other customers;
- A competent authority or court orders us to;
- Continuing to serve you would cause us to breach a law, a sanctions regime, or a contract with an upstream provider.
For non-urgent breaches we will normally warn you first and give you a chance to cure. For urgent breaches (active attack, illegal content, malware, etc.) we may suspend or terminate immediately and investigate after.
Where we terminate for cause, no refund is due for the unused portion of your current billing period. You may terminate at any time by deleting your account from the dashboard; see section 7.4 for the effect on billing.
12. Intellectual property
The Service itself - the software, the dashboard, the API, the brand, logos, copy, and documentation - is owned by the Operator and licensed, not sold, to you. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual-property right in the Service to you. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of the Service except to the extent permitted by applicable law.
"PZStack" is our trade mark.
13. Third-party services & Project Zomboid
The Service relies on third-party services (our authorized Merchant of Record / payment processor, Resend, S3-compatible object storage, our upstream infrastructure provider, error-monitoring) listed in our Privacy Policy. Your use of those services through us is subject to their own terms.
Project Zomboid is a product of The Indie Stone Ltd. PZStack is an independent third-party hosting provider. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Indie Stone.
14. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT IT WILL NOT LOSE DATA.
See our Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability for the full clause. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or, where applicable, your statutory consumer rights).
15. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages; for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, or player-side losses; or for any damages resulting from third-party mods, third-party services, or acts of other users.
- Our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim, and (b) USD 100.
These limits apply even if a stated remedy fails of its essential purpose. They do not limit liability that cannot be limited by law.
16. Indemnity
You will indemnify and hold harmless the Operator against any third-party claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) Your Content; (b) your breach of these Terms or the AUP; (c) your misuse of the Service; or (d) your violation of any law or third-party right. We may take over the defence of any such claim at our option, in which case you will reasonably cooperate.
17. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is material we will email registered users and show a notice in the dashboard at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the Service and cancel your subscription.
We keep older versions archived; on request we can send you the version that applied when you signed up.
18. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought before the competent courts of Türkiye. This section does not override mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence (for EU/EEA/UK consumers, your local consumer law still applies to the extent it would otherwise be mandatory).
19. Miscellaneous
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them to a successor entity or in connection with a sale of the Service.
- Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect and the provision is to be read down to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, AUP, Refund Policy, and Disclaimer, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
- Notices to you are sent to the email on your account. Notices to us must be sent to [email protected].
- Export & sanctions. You confirm you are not on a US, EU, UK, or UN sanctions list, and that you will not use the Service from a sanctioned jurisdiction in violation of applicable law.
